Anti‑Hazing Statement
M.W. Stringer Grand Lodge F. & A.M.
Prince Hall Affiliation – Jurisdiction of Mississippi
The M.W. Stringer Grand Lodge F. & A.M., Prince Hall Affiliation, Jurisdiction of Mississippi, maintains a zero‑tolerance policy toward hazing in any form. Hazing is incompatible with our Masonic values, our moral teachings, and the sacred obligations that bind us as Brothers. Every candidate and every Mason must be treated with dignity, respect, and honor throughout all Masonic processes.
Freemasonry is a system designed to uplift—not harm. Any act that humiliates, endangers, or inflicts physical, mental, or emotional injury violates both the letter and the spirit of our Craft.
Prohibited Conduct
The M.W. Stringer Grand Lodge strictly prohibits:
- Any physical, mental, or emotional abuse directed toward a candidate or Brother.
- Any action intended to humiliate, intimidate, or endanger an individual.
- Any initiation‑related activity that violates Mississippi law or Masonic law.
No Lodge, Mason, or candidate has the authority to require, request, condone, or participate in hazing under any circumstances.
Mississippi State Law Regarding Hazing
Pursuant to Mississippi Code § 97‑3‑105, first‑degree hazing, which involves intentionally or recklessly causing physical injury during initiation or affiliation, is punishable by a fine of up to two thousand dollars ($2,000) and/or imprisonment for up to six (6) months, while second‑degree hazing, which creates a substantial risk of physical injury without causing injury, is punishable by a fine of up to one thousand dollars ($1,000), and these penalties are in addition to any other applicable criminal charges.
The M.W. Stringer Grand Lodge fully complies with, supports, and enforces this statute.
Masonic Disciplinary Action
Any Lodge, Mason, or candidate charged with hazing shall be immediately suspended until the trial and any appeal is concluded.
This suspension is mandatory, automatic, and non‑negotiable. The Grand Lodge will investigate all allegations and impose disciplinary actions, which may include:
- Suspension
- Expulsion
- Revocation of charter for Lodges found complicit
The Grand Lodge will not shield any Brother or Lodge from accountability.

All incidents of hazing shall be reported to:
